A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR

As a Communications Supervisor, you spend your day providing supervision and guidance to operators and assist the Communication Manager. You will assist with the operations of all communications systems, transfer or answer calls for fire, police, and animal control, and record stolen items as needed. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city.

You assist in verifying logs for proper documentation, handle complaints and ensure all necessary information is obtained, and maintain current files and information within local and state guidelines. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with great people skills in providing excellent customer service to all our customers, and finds genuine enjoyment in what you do!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR

• Four (4) years of experience in police and/or fire dispatching.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalency.
• Must have a current Advanced Telecommunicator TCOLE License.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (license requirement)

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
