Job Summary |
Performs complex and safety sensitive duties, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations, guidelines; work involves aircraft ground support and aviation customer support activities; under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. |
Essential Job Functions |
Note: This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. Perform flight line services duties safely and efficiently, including aircraft marshalling, towing, tie down, baggage handling, cabin grooming, and courtesy transportation. b. Operate ground service equipment and vehicles. c. Fuel aircraft in accordance with National Fire Protection Association, National Air Transport Association, fuel concession and handling agreement(s), FAA and OSHA rules & standards for quality control and handling hazardous materials including fuel products. d. Perform safety and compliance inspections and conduct quality control tests and inspections e. Check inventories, assist with wildlife mitigation efforts, grounds, building, and vehicle maintenance activities. f. Use and promote use of personal protective equipment (PPE) g. Assist airport and aviation security efforts h. Perform customer service including point of sale calculations and transactions, and document airport statistics. i. Perform related work and reports as assigned |

a. Applicant will be subject to a complete background investigation. Incomplete, inaccurate and/or failure to report information will cause the applicant rejection from consideration. b. Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense. c. Acquire NATA (National Air Transportation Association) Safety 1st or aviation line service industry equivalent certification within first six (6) months of employment. d. Driving skill equivalent to Texas Class B Commercial Driver License with "H" endorsement. e. Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record. f. Work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities |
a. Requires a working knowledge of airport operations, fire safety, jet engine aircraft, turboprop, ramp safety, fuel farm management and aircraft towing. b. Comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization. c. Good computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office, and some database management. |

Work Conditions |
Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes and/or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircraft arrive/depart. The employee must be able to work in all types of weather conditions; occasionally exposed to extreme cold and to extreme heat. |
