Requires a working knowledge of program operations and procedures. The individual oversees the volunteer staff members. Must have flexible hours to be able to work on weekends and afternoons as assigned. Other responsibilities include maintaining safety of public and staff, maintaining a high profile in the community, and soliciting sponsors for programs.

Computer and general office equipment.

Individual works indoors in a well-lighted, air-conditioned building as well as outdoors to implement and oversee programs. The job has minimum hazards associated with lifting equipment. Moderated hazards associated in transporting and supervising at risk youth and the physical demands are moderate.

1. Market, promote and maintain a high profile in the community through publicity and quality programming.
2. Solicit sponsors for programs and special events.
3. Maintain safety for public and staff. Maintain CPR/First Aide Certification.
4. Schedule field trips.
5. Plan and coordinate activities with supervisor and co-workers.
6. Work with schools to promote programs.
7. Recruit members 6 years of age and older.
8. Must attend staff meetings, in-services, training workshops
9. Cooperate and coordinate activities with other staff.
10. Implement programs as assigned.
11. Assist in program planning and report preparation.
12. Assist in administrative duties: cash reports, monthly reports, program evaluations, outcomes etc...
13. Prepare and submit activity plans to supervisor as required.
14. Must assist staff in and perform other duties as assigned.

A high school graduation or equivalent is required. Some college preferred. Must have own transportation and requires a Valid Texas Drivers License (Class C) with satisfactory driving record. Requires one (1) year of experience in youth development. Requires working knowledge of program development, operation and procedures. Requires working telephone at residence at all times. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Other specialized job requirements include being able to understand and follow directions; both written and oral, must be in good physical condition, sensitive to the youth/teens and have good public relations ability, knowledge of athletic rules/regulations, and bookkeeping and management skills. Prefer bilingual English/Spanish.
