JOB SUMMARY:

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will work under the direction of the CEO during her final tenure with Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV for the purpose of understanding and managing the roles and responsibilities associated with the CEO position. The Deputy CEO will work with the Chief Executive Officer to develop strategy, goals, policies, and short/long term objectives for consideration, adoption and implementation by the Board of Directors. The Deputy CEO will work in conjunction with the CEO to provide leadership and develop revenue opportunities that result in organizational growth. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the administration of all organization business and policies and meeting with the Board of Directors on organization matters to provide progress reports. This position may also serve as a point of contact with all partnering agency and organizations.  The Deputy CEO, under the supervision of the CEO and through the full and part time staff, assists in executing the day to day operations of the organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Individual works indoors in a well-lighted, air conditioned buildings as well as outdoors to implement and oversee programs.  The job has minimum hazards associated with lifting equipment.  Moderated hazards associated in transporting and supervising at risk youth and the physical demands are moderate.

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  1. Leadership - In conjunction with the CEO, provides leadership and overall direction to the Boys & Girls Club of Edinburg in fulfilling it's youth development mission.
  2. Administration and Management -Under the management of the CEO, manage and protect the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg' resources.
  3. Marketing and Public Relations - In conjunction with the CEO, assures that the Boys & Girls Club of Edinburg maintains a high degree of visibility in the community.
  4. Board Development - In conjunction with the CEO, provide leadership and support to the Board of Directors. The make-up of the Board assures representation of the Community Leadership necessary to provide direction and leadership to the Boys & Girls Club of Edinburg and secure the resources necessary for the organization to fulfill it's mission.
  5. Financial Development - Under the management of the CEO, manage and attain the resources necessary to carry out the organization's plan.
  6. Human Resources - In conjunction with the CEO, assures the Boys & Girls clubs of Edinburg has the Human Resources needed to carry out it's mission.
  7. Strategic Planning - In conjunction with the CEO, institute a planning process.
  8. In conjunction with the CEO, assist the Board of Directors and its committees in budget planning, fund raising and administration of finances.
  9. In conjunction with the CEO, operate the organization within the budget approved by the Board of Directors.
  10. In conjunction with the CEO, maintain and operate the organization in accordance with standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the policies of the Board of Directors.
  11. In conjunction with the CEO, submit periodic statistical and progress reports to the Board, Committees, the public and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
  12. In conjunction with the CEO, integrate the work of the Extension Units, maintain co-operative relationships with other organizations and co-ordinate the work of the organization in all its aspects.

 

EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:

A college graduate.  or a related area is required.  Prefer graduate degree.  Requires three (3) years of experience in Youth Development Management and working with a board of Directors. Requires five (5) years of business management, planning and financial oversight.  Requires a thorough working knowledge of youth development program. Club operation and procedures.  Other specialized job requirements include fund raising, membership recruitment, budgeting and public relations skills. Sensitive to the needs of youth/teens.
